Breaking down Teen Wolf (2011)

Unless you were born in the freaking 1800's, you've probably heard of Teen Wolf. However, If you haven't heard of the tv show, you are in the right place. Today I will share my completely irrelevant opinions about this show. To run this show down, I'm going to state some facts and safisticated plot in the first few paragraphs, then we will discuss what is wrong with this show, and what is very right.

IMBD sentence plot description: A somewhat awkward teen is attacked by a werewolf and inherits the curse himself, as well as the enemies that come with it.

This 2011 show is based on the 1985 film that is also called 'Teen Wolf'. There are many simularities to the TV show and the movie, including names (Scott McCall 2011, Scott Howard 1985) Also, the process and hardships of being a werewolf are the same.Teen Wolf is an American television series developed by Jeff Davis for MTV.

Wikipedia description: The series revolves around social outcast Scott McCall, a high school student living in the town of Beacon Hills. Scott's life drastically changes when he is bitten by a werewolf, becoming one himself. He must henceforth learn to balance his problematic new identity with his day-to-day teenage life. The following characters are instrumental to his struggle: Stiles, his human best friend; Allison, his first love interest who comes from a family of werewolf hunters; Lydia, a banshee and Allison's best friend; and Derek, a mysterious werewolf with a dark past. Along the way, he encounters characters who shape him into a stronger werewolf and better person: Jackson, a bully from his high school; Malia, a were-coyote and Derek's cousin; Kira, a Japanese fox spirit and Scott's second love interest; and Liam, Scott's beta and the first human he bites. Throughout the series, he strives to keep his loved ones safe while maintaining normal relationships with them.

So, now lets get to the good stuff. If you are overly sensitive to major spoilers and discussion, then get out of my blog, I'm pretty sure all of my posts are literally only spoilers upon spoilers. I am going to go down the list of seasons and discuss what I liked, and what I didn't like about them.

Season one:
Season one was lighthearted and funny. The producers accomplished it very well. To any future (or not so future) tv writers and directors out there, Teen Wolf's first season was exactly how the beginning of any series should look like. Stiles (Scott Mccalls side-kick and Costar) who is played by the god Dylan O'Brien, is amazing and easily the fan-favorite of the season. Season one promises humor in every episode, a hilariously unprofessional lacrosse coach, and the focus of friendship. Romantic wise, there is love interests, but they never degrade the show by the girls, and the relationship is nicely paced and acted. Season one was my second favorite season of this series so far.

Season 2:
I can remember much of season 2. I do rememeber that the humor was great in it. A lot of Sterek.

Season 3: I'm including season 3A and 3B into one because I dont remember much other then the humor in season 3A. However, the giggles and party life that Stiles shows in the first 3 seasons is over as we approach season 3B, which is my favorite season. We got to see sexy void Stiles, and it was a realm we hadn't explored. I believe the producers just though "Hey, if the fans cant see sexy shirtless/werewolf Stiles, then we will give them a Stiles that is sexy with power... (If that makes any sense) Stiles goes insane, he hates himself, he is dying from multiple dysfunctions, like when he had a cancer scare. He went into a home for the insane at one point. What I didnt enjoy about this season is the rushed relationship with Malia. Its like the prodcers just forgot about Lydia and Stiles relationship completely and just threw another girl in there. It is disapointing and it still exists in the current season.

Season 4: Im going to be real with you all right now, i only watched up to episode 8. I think there was 10-12 episodes in the fourth season, but it was approaching the end of the season and I didnt understand it at all. Dumb characters were being introduced, and also stupid relationships that made the show less apealing to me. After 4x08, I just skipped to season 5.

Season 5: Season 5 is still going, although season 5a is over with. Season 5xb will be starting in January. This season is slighly better then season 4, but not by much. Stupid relationships still exist, and the show is overtaken by the characters that showed up around season 4. They dont show much Stiles or Lydia, and instead they replaced them with more Scott, Liam, Hayden, Kira, and Theo. I hate ALL these characters because of their actions. At this point romance that is completely unrealistic and dumb has taken over the show. Good plot that has build up from seasons 1-3B has been destroyed at season 4, and replaced with dumb cheap plot. I have hope for season 6, but if its the same way, I will quit watching the show.
