My thoughts: "uh..."
Warning: spoilers, obviously.
Okay. So let me say first off that I am only complete with season 1.
If you asked: "Why are you doing an anime review if your only half way through the anime!?"
I might answer: "Hm... There is both good and bad things about this anime that will annoy people to death if they watch it."
So let me start off by saying: I'm going to be brutally honest in this. This is a show I have very strong feelings about and I have to say, most of my opinions are negative. So, let's get to it. I am going to start of with the negatives of this show. Only because I don't want to seem like too much of a jerk.
So, there are so many terribly irritating quarks in this show that I have to organize them in numbed order. They or in no specific order.
Things that pissed me off in Vampire Knight:
#1. Yuki Cross.
Yuki Cross is the main protagonist in "Vampire Knight". And let me tell you, if you hate naive teenage girls, then don't even read this paragraph because it will piss you off.
Yuki Cross is one of those characters that I just want to strangle. If I were to magically jump into their world, then I don't think I would be able to restrain myself from hurting her.
Feelings aside, Yuki is a teenage girl (15-18) that is kind of obsessed with one of the vampires In the show named Kaname. So Yuki is a guardian of the night class students, who are vampires. Although she is much weaker then the actual vampires, she is trying to "help" them. Let me just tell you, she sucks at it. She acts to everyone as if she is so amazing and high since she gets to protect the Night Class, but when a situation happens where is actually has to help them, she freezes and has to depend on one of the vampires to protect her. Through out the series she is a weak, selfish, dramatic, unappreciative girl.
So basically, I hate her guts. Nuff said.
#2. INCEST?!
Yep. You heard me correct. There IS incest In this. Strong and dogmatic fans of this show insist that they are not blood related, (although they are). But it's truly disturbing. In the first season we don't know that Kaname and Yuki are related, but in fact they are siblings. I don't know exactly how to explain it, but Yuki and Kaname were both born purebread from the same people. However, a very old vampire basically possessed Yuki's brother, Kaname. So they look exactly like each other, act like each other, but in soul (literally) they aren't related.
Also, she ends up marrying and having kids with him. [gags]
#3. GIRL, YOU GOT THE WRONG MAN.
So, to shorten this up, all these years Yuki has stalked Kaname, who has been a douche to her, and Zero has watched over Yuki and stood up for her from Kaname. AND SHE PICKS KANAME!? HER BROTHER!? She is literally an idiot.
So I have been sitting here for an hour thinking of possible "good things" about this show and couldn't find anything.
But, you would love this show if you like:
Douche hot guys
Douche hot vampire guys
A stupid overdramatic teen girl.
Incest. [gags]
